UAF is jointly organising a Celebrate One Community Many Cultures event in Dudley on Saturday 17 July to show our unity against the racist English Defence League. The EDL wants to come to the town to spread its anti-Muslim racism.
The event is organised with Dudley’s Interfaith forum. We are asking all our supporters from across the Midlands to join us.
Assemble from 1pm, junction of Tower Street and The Broadway (opposite Dudley Zoo). The location is in central Dudley in the shadow of the historic castle.
Coming from Birmingham?
Transport to the UAF protest will leave Carrs Lane, opposite Moor Street station, Birmingham at 12 noon. Phone 07910 767 043 for details.
Don’t let the racists divide our community
The EDL has targeted Muslims and mosques, whipping up hatred, division and violence where it has been allowed to march. Their violence and racism were exposed in this video, made when the EDL visited the town in April.
Last week, an EDL supporter received a suspended jail sentence for religiously aggravated harassment after leaving a pig’s head on the wall of Dudley Central Mosque.
