Birmingham UAF outnumbered a motley crew of ex-EDL thugs who made up the 200 strong mobilisation of Tommy Robinson’s new hate venture, Pegida UK.

Pouring rain didn’t deter around 150 UAF supporters in Birmingham City Centre whilst nearly 100 anti-fascists gathered where Pegida UK, held their march and rally.

Salma Yaqoob, trade unionists, Labour Party members and others, spoke at the Birmingham event, whilst at Birmingham International Rail station, anti-fascists assembled to oppose Robinson. It was clear that this was not the breakthrough Robinson had hoped for.

Pegida UK promise to be back on a monthly basis and ludicrously claim 100,000 will rally with them by December. Birmingham UAF will monitor and oppose the Islamophobes in the weeks ahead.
