On Sunday 6 May, fascist English Defence League League founder Tommy Robinson and the racist DFLA (‘ Democratic ‘Football Lads Alliance) have organised a so-called ‘Day of Freedom’ for racists and islamophobes in London.
They are seeking to use Islamophobia as a way of rebuilding the far right movement in the UK.

Robinson had threatened to march on the Twitter HQ, after it blocked his racist account. He has now pulled back from this. However, he is still assembling in Whitehall at 2pm, on May 6th. The DFLA say they will join him and are encouraging others on the right to do so. Robinson attacked a refugee in Italy this year and an Asian man at Ascot races last year. The EDL’s marches, in areas such as East London and Bradford, targeting mosques, is something not lost on DFLA supporters, many of whom are ex EDL members.

Robinson is a notorious racist who has a long history of organising racists, and has links with neo-nazi and fascist organisations. He has associated with alt-right groups, and racists like Kate Hopkins.

Last month Robinson, joined supporters of Mark Meechan,
who filmed a pet dog giving Nazi salutes before posting the footage online. Meecham was fined for the vile act and

found guilty of posting material that was “grossly offensive” and “anti-Semitic and racist in nature”, in breach of the Communications Act, in an offence aggravated by religious prejudice.

Last summer, 1000 racists joined a Robinson led march in Manchester and many abused anti racists and some Sikhs.Dan Hett, brother of Martyn Hett, who was killed in the Manchester Arena bombing, has criticised Robinson for hate speech after the outrage.

Many on the far right want Robinson to play a hands on role between the two, rival FLA’s.

Robinson, the DFLA and their supporters want to come to London to spread racism, and islamophobia. They plan to hold a rally at Speakers Corner. Stand Up To Racism and Unite Against Fascism are calling on anti racists and anti fascists to come out on May 6th and say Robinson and the far right will not divide us.
