Fascist hate organiser, Tommy Robinson aka Stephen Yaxley Lennon,  faces another contempt of court hearing at the Old Bailey in London next week.

Robinson  was not present in court for a 30-second procedural hearing, last Tuesday.

Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC said: “This is just to indicate that I’m not referring the matter of possible contempt of court by Mr Yaxley-Lennon to the attorney general for him to consider whether or not to institute proceedings. I will hear the matter myself on 23 October as ordered by the Court of Appeal.”

A hearing last month over the case drew several hundred racists and open fascists to the streets outside the Old Bailey, report here, uaf.org.uk/2018/09/supporters-of-fascist-tommy-robinson-target-woman-anti-fascist-at-old-bailey/

UAF and Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) have called a protest, next Tuesday, details here,

Robinson was originally jailed for 13 months over a Facebook Live video he broadcast from outside the city’s crown court in May, but this was overturned last month and he walked free.  Court of Appeal judges ordered a rehearing, arguing the “alleged contempt was serious and the sentence might be longer than that already served”.

Recent violent marches by his supporters in the so called Democratic Football Lads Alliance have been marked by chanting of his name. This has also been the case in a few football grounds. by small groups. The clubs concerned will see UAF and SUTR follow up on recent successful leafleting of grounds in a renewed effort to isolate the far right at matches.

This Saturday will see hundreds attend the SUTR international conference on fighting racism and the far right, details here, www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/how-do-we-defeat-the-rise-of-fascism-racism-international-conference-tickets

Sessions include opposing racism and the far right in Football and a number of football fans will be present. Book up for Saturday and if you can be in London next Tuesday, join the opposition to Robinson and all he stands for.
